Other support available in and around Wakefield.

Sometimes it can help to know that there are other sources of support available locally as well. I've listed organisations that as far as I'm aware are free of charge. Please understand that I am not responsible for them or connected to them.

I'm sharing in case they are helpful & 1:1 private counselling is beyond your budget.

I'm not much of a businesswoman directing potential clients to other services - what matters most to me is you feeling better however that happens.

If you still want to talk, get in touch, I'm here.

HOME - MAN MATTERS - this is a free service for men offering 1:1 support, counselling and coffee groups. They have experience in supporting male survivors of domestic abuse and sexual abuse. They form part of Gasped - see below.

Home Page - GASPED - support people in emotional distress and their families with practical support and counselling services. They have experience with supporting people struggling with addiction.

ANDYSMANCLUB - It's Okay To Talk - the aim of the club is to provide men with a safe space where they feel comfortable to talk and open up about their experiences in a room free of judgment. This is a group environment running on Mondays at 7pm in both Stanley and Wakefield City Centre.

Wakefield - Touchstone - 16+ they advertise that 1-to-1 support is available & that if you have something you feel you need to talk about privately, or if you prefer support around other people, they offer a social space for up to 6 people each evening.

Mental health services - Wakefield District Health & Care Partnership - I believe that they are linked to Touchstone. Based on Denby Dale Road. Here For You has a local team available every night of the year from 6pm until midnight.  The service offers free, safe, and confidential face-to-face support for anybody aged 16 years or older in Wakefield district. They also advertise a phone line.
